Black and White Family Portraits

Ty and Feda Morrow Family Portrait Shoot in the Rick’s Gardens at BYU-Idaho.

Mixed race families are unique to photograph because of the way the different skin tones reflect the light.  I loved the challenge that the Morrow family provided.  Not only was there a variety in the skin tones, but they had one energetic toddler, Noah,  and a sleepy baby, Levi.

I choose to make all of these photos black and white because I felt that it really brought these images together.  My fellow photographer, Douglas Phan, agreed that the black and white added to the images and he helped me to choose the best composed images.

John Haverstick Studio takes incredible family portrait shoots. I enjoy viewing good photography.  I see so many bad photos these days and the incredible ones are always a breath of fresh air.
