Glamor, Sparkle, Style, and Shine

Accessories Fashion Shoot at Egin Lake, Idaho

Who knew style could be so stylish? I love taking accessory shots because you don’t have to worry about a watch blinking or a ring sneezing.  I like to be in control of my photo shoots and inanimate objects are pretty obedient.

I took all of these photos out at the sand dunes near St. Anthony, Idaho.

Accessories Magazine is an awesome magazine that is dedicated to showcasing fashion accessories.  I like to go to magazines to see what styles of photography are happening and what is popular.

Even though accessories don’t move by themselves, they still need to be styled. The lighting will make or break any fashion shoot, but especially with an accessories fashion shoot.  I also found that using a lower aperture helped my subject become the focal point in my image.  I had to ditch my personal bubble and get up close to the models wearing the accessories.

If any of you photographers ever want to make a personal project, try creating a photo that you would see as a brand advertisement (Rolex, American Eagle, etc.) It’ll really push your professionalism.
