Getting Fresh!
I finally feel like I have made significant progress on my product redesign. Late Monday night I had a break through with the design. I wasn’t liking anything I had designed so far when I just sat down, watched the last tow Harry Potter movies and doodled this paradisaical doodle….
Then I used the Adobe Shape app to turn my doodle into a vector!
Next, I brought that vector into Adobe Illustrator where I was able to add color.
For my first draft I tweaked a few things and added more text.
Final Draft:
After getting critique and adding the rest of my text I was able to clean up my design a lot. I ended up just creating a solid pattern in Illustrator of the flowers and designs. I got rid of my hand drawn title because it felt off. Adding the gradients was just an experiment, but I actually love how they look.
Product Photography:
This afternoon I went to Alphagraphics in Rexburg and they were able to print my label on sticker paper and put it on my container for me! It was so much easier than I had expected. The final product looks beautiful! My friend, Doug, and I just took product shots and I still need to go through and edit them. I was able to get photos of the old product and photos of my redesign. Here is a photo I snapped with my phone to show how it looks so far.
What’s left?
Now I need to complete the style guide that will accompany the product so that anyone could reprint and have the blue prints for my design. I also need to create an advertisement for the product with some of the photos I just took.
