I was walking home from class when I saw these pretty flowers. It was raining, so I used my blue umbrella to keep the rain off my camera. The umbrella worked as the perfect backdrop for the orange flowers. I really like the contrasting colors. I took the picture from beneath the flower to get a different perspective.
I found this little beetle and the leaf on the floor in the kitchen at my apartment. I took them both into the bathroom where I had the best lighting. I used a lamp to get additional light. I used the macro setting on my camera with manual focus to get in close and personal.
I took this 2nd picture at the same location as the other flowers. I chose to photograph this flower in particular because I love the burnt orange color. The rain brought out the texture and makes it shine. I wanted to get a close shot so you can see the live and dead petals and see the texture.
I was driving around town looking for animals and I found some girls walking their dog. The dogs were kind of crazy so this shot kind of happened by accident. I was playing with my settings on my camera and got a nice close up of this dog named Tammy. I discovered that dogs are prety hard to photgraph when they are hyper and chasing each other around.
After photographing the dogs, I chased this squirrel up the telephone pole. I had to have my camera on a fast shutter speed to catch a clear picture because this little guy sure was moving fast. But I actually really like the way the telephone lines and pole add interest to the photo.
I love your angle on “Garden Flowers.” It makes me feel like I’m in a giant flower forest. And the sky is such a pretty blue color in the background.
The dog in “Getting Nosey” is also adorable.
I absolutely love your first photo! I like the perspective you chose to take. The colors are so serene and calming. The composition is really pleasing and I like the depth of field and the fact that there is a contrasting flower that is out of focus on the side.
The photos I like the best are the flower photos. My favorite of the two is the first one, under the umbrella. The composition of the fauna shots is all pretty centered, so shifting the composition would enhance those shots. Shooting animals isn’t the easiest thing, and you have to make the best out of it.
Your photos are really cool. It’s so hard to shoot wildlife because they don’t always hold still but you did a really good job. I like the picture of the dog because it’s off to the side a little bit and not just right in the middle. And it looks like you probably tweaked the color a bit? I’m guessing 🙂 I think your perspectives are really creative. That’s something I need to work on, and there is a variety of perspectives. The dog, the pole, the flower and the leaf all attract the eye to different areas of the screen. Excellent! 🙂
