Creating a personal brand.

This fall semester I am in an advanced visual design class that is going to be extremely fun! For our first project I get to create several personal logos and then narrow it down to one sweet logo. I’ve created a Pinterest board (Lush Logos) with many logo ideas that inspire me.

I found this logo on Behance.net and it was designed by a Russian fellow named Ivan Bobrov. He created a whole bunch of animals and birds like this.

I really like text and icon logos.  I picked this bird as my favorite because I love the simplicity, style, and colors.  It’s kind of intense, but a sweet little logo.  I would love to create something like this that represents my personality, my photography, and my design.

Some of the other logos I pinned consisted of initials or combinations of icons and text. I like these as well because they are simple, clean, and would work well for a watermark.  I take a lot of photos so I want a logo that will work on top of an image.

Social Media Survey:

To help out with learning more about myself, I conducted a survey on Facebook and asked my friends what words and ideas came to mind when they think of me.  It kind of sounded like I was asking for a self esteem boost, but it was helpful in collecting ideas that represent myself.

A lot of the words people used I wouldn’t have used myself. Mainly because I am my harshest critic and I don’t always see what the world around me sees. People used words like: babe, vibrant, colorful, classy, caring, thoughtful, confident, saucy, hard working, dedicated, fun, energetic, active, kindhearted and much more!

Target Audience:

I am really interested in working for a design firm or on some corporation’s marketing team.  I want to become a professional and work with professional people.  In this case, I need a professional looking logo that relays my energetic, creative side while being classy and elegant at the same time.
